I believe that the time and effort that goes into your hand crafted piece deserves the best material, and nothing gives more wow factor than hand dyed yarn! Making something for yourself or a loved one is the ultimate expression of your heart and soul. The colours and fibres should reflect that!
This is why I only use the softest, high quality and low micron count hand dyed yarns for my own projects, and for all the skeins you can see in my shop!
My name is Veronika, or Roni for short, I’m an indie wool dyer and yarn enthusiast, a self taught knitter, crocheter and total bookworm.
I’m a 40-year-old mum-of-two, originally from Hungary, but for a decade and a half now, I’ve been living, loving and creating in beautiful Scotland with my South African husband and our two amazing kids - my wonderful multicultural family!
I fell in love with hand dyed yarn many years ago, and I never looked back. Over the years, I have learned that not all wool is created equally, and colour isn’t everything: I’m passionate about breaking the misconception that wool is always scratchy and will irritate the skin. Having super sensitive skin myself, I had to sell on or donate many beautiful hand dyed skeins because even though they were classed as “merino”, with their 22-27 microns they caused my skin to redden and I couldn’t bear wearing garments made from these yarns up against my neck, chest or arms. To this day, I can only tolerate the widely available hand dyed yarns on my feet as socks. So it was an absolute must that when I start my dyer journey, I will use wool with under 20 microns that won’t cause skin reactions and
I have since proven to several sceptic customers that my yarns are perfectly soft and comfortable even against the most sensitive skin, because I offer some of the softest wool bases available on the market, at affordable prices! My yarns contain 19.5 micron extra fine merino, the long fibres of which will never irritate or cause itching. I guarantee you!
I create unique, exciting and eye catching colours on the softest wool for those knitters, crocheters and weavers who would like to take their creations to the next level.
